The cafe and roastery on Anderson Street

The building is a 1930s L-shaped brick structure that holds both a cafe and a separate roastery. The cafe closed during COVID, was remodeled, and reopened in May 2022. A 2023 visit by Brian's Coffee Spot describes two rooms, window bars along the walls, counter seating, tables, benches, and outdoor seating. Parking is free on site or on the street.

That write-up lists a single-origin espresso every day, a decaf, batch brew, and pour-overs, usually from a choice of two or three single-origins. The menu changes, so check what's on when you go.

The coffee and bakery on Congress Street

Baking is led by Briana Holt, who trained at M. Wells and Pies and Thighs in New York and is named on Tandem's site as a James Beard nominee. Online ordering for same-day pickup is open for a short window each morning.

Buying beans

Tandem sells a rotating list of single-origin coffees and seasonal blends online. Its site lists free shipping on most orders over $50.

This profile is researched from published sources, not from a visit. Hours and menus change, so check before you go. Sources: Tandem's story, Tandem's website, and Brian's Coffee Spot.
